Before School Yoga + Mindfulness
St Johns Hill School
A unique opportunity for your child to join a before school yoga and mindfulness class running term-to-term, currently based at St Johns Hill School. Re-starting again in spring, term four. Breaking for winter term, term three.
Led by Simone Grant (a certified yoga teacher for both adults and children), this series of classes are aimed at helping your child cultivate more inner calm and peace, express and integrate feelings and regulate their nervous system.
Each class will have a unique theme and includes fun movement, mindfulness, breathing and social-emotional techniques that they can use in every day life. All the tools and techniques are tailored to kids aged 5-10 – the classes are different to adult yoga!
Some of the benefits of your child practicing regular yoga and mindfulness includes:

- Increasing creativity and ability to learn – brains in pain can’t learn
- Cultivating self-regulation and acceptance of emotions
- Reducing stress and anxiety

Please note: it is the responsibility of you/your child to arrive at the St Johns Hill School hall on time (or just before). Please remind your child to wait outside the school hall, where they can place their bag and shoes. If you’re child needs adult help to make their way to their classroom, please let Simone know and she will try to accomodate.
